CLC Makes Its Bay Area Debut with Chinese Parent-Child Storytime
Updated: Oct 5
On October 4, CLC held its first Chinese parent-child story time in the Bay Area at Fremont Central Park, bringing more than ten families together for a morning of stories, music, and play.

Designed especially for children ages 6 months to 3 years, the event offered a gentle and joyful way for young children to hear and use Chinese in a natural setting.
Families read Mr. Octopus Sells Umbrellas together, moved with music, and joined playful activities including “The Big Wind Blows” and a colorful parachute game. Through rhythm, movement, and shared story time, children were introduced to Chinese sounds, words, and interaction in a relaxed outdoor space.

The gathering was independently organized by Bay Area Local Leader Yangyang, with content support from CLC Story Time Program Director Ms. JJ. The event also marked the official launch of CLC’s Chinese story time project in the Bay Area.
For many families, the morning was more than a children’s activity. It was a chance to build community, connect through language, and create early memories around Chinese books and songs.
