CLC Pittsburgh recently joined two Squirrel Hill Night Market events, bringing Chinese classical romance, colorful lanterns, and traditional sugar art to local children and families.

A touch of Qixi and Mid-Autumn in Pittsburgh

At the Qixi event, lanterns and sugar art helped share the beauty of Chinese festival culture. Families stopped by to learn, watch, and take part in hands-on activities that connected tradition with play.

For Mid-Autumn, the festive atmosphere continued. Children carried Chinese lanterns through the crowd on American streets, creating a scene that felt, for a moment, like stepping into a lively Song dynasty market.

中秋夜市延续了这份节日氛围。小朋友们提着中国灯笼穿行在美国街道的人群中，灯光摇曳之间，恍若回到了宋代繁荣热闹的街市。

Sugar art quickly became one of the most popular stops.

Nearly 400 sugar art experiences

Across the two night market events, nearly 400 visits were recorded for CLC Pittsburgh’s sugar art activity. Children watched melted sugar turn into animals and festive shapes, then left with a sweet memory in hand.

两次夜市活动中，近 400人次 体验了 CLC Pittsburgh 的糖画。孩子们看着糖浆化作小动物和节日图案，再开心地拿着自己的糖画离开。

The activity also helped more families remember the name of the Chinese Library for Children. For many young visitors, the booth became a place to look for at the next large community event.
